Our laboratory studies the central nervous system processes involved in food intake, energy expenditure and body weight regulation. As brain reward circuitry plays a significant role in overeating, weight gain and the development of obesity, our primary objective is to identify the neural mechanisms that contribute to food-motivated behaviour and preference for palatable, energy-rich foods.
